With the advent of the American Classic organ, the Aeolian-Skinner Organ Company changed the course of organ building forever.

This page chronicles the evolution of the Aeolian-Skinner style through stop lists, pictures, and first-hand memoirs. Through the stop lists, one can observe the instruments, both famous and obscure, evolve from the grand symphonic style of E. M. Skinner to the great American Classic that we are all so familiar with.

We sincerely hope that this archive will be of assistance to researchers and enthusiasts alike and that it will stand as a monument to the immortal American Classic organ and its greatest champion, the Aeolian-Skinner Organ Company.

Please note, stoplists shown reflect the stoplists of the instruments at the time they were shipped from the factory.  Also shown are any revisions completed by Skinner or Aeolian-Skinner.  We do not post stoplists showing subsequent work done on these instruments by other builders.

Sincerely,

Steve Layden, Website Creator
