Greetings—and get ready to pack your travel bags for Boston, Massachusetts, host city of our 70th annual convention in the summer of 2027!

Boston is not only one of America’s oldest major cities, but also one of the great centers of American organbuilding history—a region where craftsmanship, musical ambition, technological innovation, and changing tastes in organ design have intersected for centuries since the city’s founding in 1630.

Boston and its surrounding communities occupy a remarkable place in American organbuilding history. Few regions offer such a concentrated opportunity to encounter the evolution of the American organ, from the brilliance and craftsmanship of the 19th-century builders to the orchestral grandeur of the symphonic era, the reform movements of the 20th century, and the increasingly diverse philosophies of contemporary organbuilding.

Our 2027 convention offers an extraordinary opportunity not simply to study this history, but to experience it firsthand—to see these instruments, hear their contrasting voices, and appreciate the generations of builders, musicians, and preservationists who have shaped their remarkable legacy.

Please plan to join us in August, 2027, as we celebrate the extraordinary organbuilding heritage of Boston and New England!
