Nathan Laube

Performs at major venues on four continents, including concert halls in Vienna, Berlin, Dortmund, Ljubljana, Seoul, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, as well as throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Is frequently a featured performer in major organ festivals in Freiberg, Naumburg, Stuttgart, Lahti and Lapua in Finland, Orléans France, Torino and Smarano in Italy (Italy) as well as national conventions of the Organ Historical Society and American Guild of Organists in the United States.

Serves as Assistant Professor of Organ at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.

Graduated with highest distinction from the Curtis Institute of Music (Philadephia, Pennsylvania); Master's Degree from the Musik­hoch­schule in Stuttgart (Germany) as a recipient of a DAAD Grant; Prix de Spécialisé from the Conservatoire in Toulouse as a recipient of a William Fulbright Grant.

Program Note

Nathan starts off on the Fisk organ with its Northern European and Italian characteristics. Included here is the music of Buxtehude, Antoni van Noordt, Allesandro Poglietti and M. Rossi (a Frescobaldi student) — in both a serious and somewhat humorous way.

The second part of the program switches gears on the Skinner organ. Featuring music composed in the first three decades of the 20th-century, Nathan weaves a rich harmonic tapestry with a Rachmaninoff transcription, followed by pieces by Dupré, Howells and Joseph Jongen.
