Centennial Organ Concert at First Baptist Church

Hamilton's First Baptist Church will mark the 100th year of its Estey Organ with a centennial concert on Sunday, June 13th, at 3:30 PM.
Guest organist is Will O. Headlee, Professor Emeritus of Organ and University Organist Emeritus at Syracuse University and, currently, organist at the Park Central Presbyterian Church in Syracuse. The concert will feature works Headlee will perform this summer at the convention of the Organ Historical Society.
The concert is free and open to the public as a gift by First Baptist in honor and appreciation of Dr. Christopher Warren, organist at First Baptist for the past thirty years.
First Baptist's Estey Organ recently has received extensive renovation and expansion by Kerner and Merchant Pipe Organ Builders of East Syracuse. The latest addition is a six-rank Antiphonal Division, placed in the sanctuary balcony, opposite the main organ chamber. The Antiphonal Division will be heard publicly for the first time at this concert.      Although receiving significant improvements, the organ has retained much from its original 1905 installation, including the beautiful casework and front façade pipes, and fifteen or more ranks of pipes.
A reception with refreshments will follow the concert.
