Notes
The organ was installed
in a chamber behind a wooden grille on the right side of the front wall
near the corner.
Only the console was visible.
The tremolo affects
the entire instrument. The Unison Off function is operated by means of ON/OFF
pistons located
on the top, right side of each manual key
frame.
The
congregation dwindled, the church closed, and the organ was given to a local man
who removed it. He, in turn, sold it to St. Aidan's Episcopal Church of
Portland and they had expectation to install it in their church to replace a
II-manual, 3-rank M.P. Moller "Artiste" unit organ. However, after purchasing
the Estey for $2,000.00, St. Aidan's learned of a III-manual, 18-rank Balcom and
Vaughan organ available for $5,000.00 and purchased that.
At present
[July 2004] the Estey is stored at St. Aidan's pending its sale to another
interested party.
Plans are afoot to move it to a church in
Seattle.
Update: The organ was purchased by and moved to the residence
of William C. Gustafson III, Gresham, OR, in March 2009.
