Photo Source: Jeff Scofield Notes: The Great and Pedal are functionally displayed on a shelf above and behind the choir loft, to each side of the baptismal window. The rest of the organ is installed in chambers to each side of the Great and Pedal. The sanctuary is a large colonial-style room seating nearly 1,800, with a wrap-around balcony. When visited in December of 1992, the sanctuary was not being used due to boiler problems and lack of funds for repairs. The sanctuary has around 3-4 seconds of reverberation and the organ sounded wonderful – it was fun to play. In 2005, the church property was sold to adjacent Belmont University. The organ is now used as a teaching instrument for their School of Music. The sanctuary will be altered in the front to convert it into a concert hall.
