Notes: The meeting house was constructed in 1819. It formerly housed an E. & G. G. Hook, Op. 93, and, in 1881, a Steere & Turner, Op. 159. In 1913, E. M. Skinner Op. 209, a 4/35 utilizing the existing case, was installed. The present instrument was installed in 1958. Tonal alterations were made by Berkshire in 1973 and, later, additions were made by Theodore Gilbert and Calvin Hampton. The organ was rehabilitated by Foley-Baker in 1987 with new casework and facade. The church closed in December 2007 and the building was sold for $800,000 to the City of Springfield with the organ in place. The congregation was 370 years old. Organ Historical Society Database: |
