The contract was for a new console and rebuild of the Hook & Hastings (1922, Opus 2455) that Central Church inherited when it moved into the former facilities of Park Avenue Baptist Church; the latter moved much farther uptown to become The Riverside Church. 18 new ranks of pipes were added. The shop spec does not give a pipe count of existing ranks, so no rank count or pipe count can be be given here.
