Notes: The organ was built for The Temple of Religion at the 1939 New York World's Fair. The name of John W. Haussermann, Jr., was on the contract along with that of the World's Fair. When the fair closed, Mr. Haussermann moved the organ to his home in Chappaqua, New York. In 1947, the organ was moved to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and installed by Sylvester Kohler, a longtime associate of Henry Pilcher's Sons Organ Co. A 16' Bourdon, an old Pilcher rank, was added at that time. Organ Historical Society Database: https://pipeorgandatabase.org/OrganDetails.php?OrganID=25622 |
