Notes: The 1991 convention handbook of the Organ Historical Society that featured the Baltimore convention had this to say about the church and organ:

"Brown Memorial Park Avenue Presbyterian Church was built in 1870 as a memorial to George Brown (1787-1859), by his widow, Isabella Brown. In 1905, the building was enlarged by the addition of transepts. In 1931, the chancel was built to plans of Ralph Adams Cram.

"The first organ was a Hall & Labagh organ of two manuals and thirty stops built in 1870. In 1889, a Steere & Turner organ [of three manuals and thirty-five ranks] was installed at a price of $6,000. When the new chancel was completed in 1931, the Skinner was installed, with G. Donald Harrison doing the tonal finishing. Virgil Fox became organist in 1935."

According to the stop list published in the September 1930 issue of The Diapason, the Pedal Trombone was extended to 8' pitch. However, somewhere along the line the 8' knob was used to borrow the 16' Waldhorn from the Swell, instead. The pipes and switch for the 8' Tromba are in place.
