Notes: The church burned on November 17, 1931. When the towering new English Gothic nave was built in 1934, Moller installed their landmark Op. 6185, a 4/97 described by many as one of the finest Moller ever built. The organ was designed in the English tradition by Richard Whitelegg. It was enlarged to a 4/115 in 1961, still in the English tonal tradition; the console was rebuilt at that time. The church's music program under the direction of Dr. Charlotte Lockwood Garden was renowned. Dr. Garden was killed in an automobile accident in May of 1961 on her way to the Bach Festival in Bethlehem, Penn. The completion of the organ was supervised by Dr. Robert Baker, who dedicated it on November 20, 1961. A new Austin console was installed in 1990.
